I started doing photography back in the 70’s when I purchased my first SLR
camera a Pentax Spotmatic F with a 50ml lens this was to take photos of my
award-winning models of aircraft cars and trucks but as all things so I stopped
doing modeling and stopped doing photography other than family stuff until
1996 When Moira and I sold the Family Screen Printing Business and I had to
find a direction and something to do besides work so I purchased my first
modern film camera a Nikon F80 and started by just taking happy snaps and
landscapes etc until 2000 when I purchased my first digital camera a Nikon
coolpix 5000 and started doing a private photography course which was
costing a lot and I was getting no value from it So I quit and applied to
Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE to do a diploma in applied photography
of which I was accepted after the panel had viewed my portfolio of work This
lasted 4 years part-time as I was working full time for a printing company as
the despatch manager. I purchased my first DSLR Camera in my second year of
my course a Nikon D70’s along with assorted lenses and I started doing Model
Portfolios and Model Competitions as well as Landscapes and commercial
Photography and Weddings as well It was whilst doing some long exposure
shots at Docklands I happen to meet the editor of 3 magazines published in
Melbourne and started working for them along with my job at Blue Scope
Steel I also joined Essendon Camera Club and started MHB Photography and me
purchased from a friend my first Professional DSLR the Canon EOS 1DmkII and
lenses which I still currently Use I have had the Privilege to be published both
internationally and nationally. I moved to Colac in 2009 and joined the Colac
Camera Club as a member and have now served on the committee for 5 years
